Viscose is best washed by hand. But who has time for that?
You can also use an automatic washing machine, but remember to set it to the delicate cycle and reduce the spin speed.
- Viscose is best washed at a temperature not exceeding 30 degrees Celsius.
- Try not to put this material in the washing machine together with thick and stiff clothing, which may damage it through friction. You can also use special protective laundry bags.
- Your viscose garment will appear smaller after drying, which means that the fibers have twisted slightly during washing. Iron the garment after drying and it will return to its normal size. The fibers will straighten out under the weight and temperature of the iron.
- Avoid using a very hot iron. Lowering its temperature to 90-100 degrees Celsius will slightly increase the ironing time, but it will guarantee that you will not damage the fabric and that the garment will serve you well for a long time.
- It is worth getting a clothes shaver, as 100% viscose can peel in places where there is friction, e.g., on handbags. You can easily shave off snags with a shaver.
